Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to disassemble my slide before shipping it to you?
We offer optional internal component removal and reinstallation (+$25) and iron sight removal and reinstallation (+$25) if you'd rather not strip the slide yourself. If you choose to handle it, ship a completely stripped slide with no internals or sights attached.
How long does the Amethyst Nova finish take?
Turnaround varies based on current order volume — check our blog post on the Cerakote process for current estimated timelines, or contact us directly for the most up-to-date turnaround for your order.
Can I send the whole firearm, or just the slide?
This service is for the non-serialized slide portion only — not a complete, serialized firearm. Customers are responsible for shipping just the slide to the address provided at checkout and must comply with all applicable ATF laws and regulations.
Will the finish really shift color, or is that just in photos?
Yes — the iridescent pearl in Amethyst Nova genuinely shifts between violet, magenta, and electric blue depending on lighting and viewing angle, not just in studio photography. Our customer reviews confirm this is visible in person.
Is shipping insurance required?
Insurance with signature required (+$14) is available as an optional add-on at checkout — we recommend it given the value of a coated slide in transit, but it's not mandatory

Amethyst nova
This is such a beautiful design. If you have it in person it literally changes shades in different light. It’s almost like an iridescent. I got this one and I’m LOVING it. It’s definitely 100% worth the money. I shoot a lot as well and with that comes normal scratches and ware and rare. Stilllllll have seen NOOO blemishes or marks on it yet. Very high quality, would recommend 100%
